It's not English and well it's not quite Indian

It's Anglo Indian, Burmese with a British influence and

“It is  Fran and  she is  Manci  Amma"

Fran not only produces her own unique and individual dishes but creates a response that draws you closer to her cultural experience.

Home: Welcome

Manci

Telugu is a South-Central Dravidian language predominantly used in southern India and northern Sri Lanka, with pockets elsewhere in South Asia. It stands alongside Hindi and Bengali. Used by Telugu people it means a good, humble person... "gorgeous, attractive and charming, quiet and thoughtful, but also mischievous and fun to be around, once you get to know her”.

Amma

Using the Telugu language spoken by Fran means mother, someone who would literally do anything for her children and grandchildren. She cannot ever be replaced, no matter what,... "She is the strongest person that you will ever meet. When you are tired and worn out by life, she is the one that warms you up with hot food. Being with her makes all your fears disappear. Amma is a woman that God took extra time on and was made to be the most purposeful on this earth. But most of all she is someone that no matter what will always love you unconditionally forever. She is a superhero, our superhero."

My Story

I am Anglo Indian, I grew up in south eastern India in a town called Visakhapatnam with my 6 sisters and brother. Things were a lot simpler. We didn't have much but we created with what we had and made it work.

Home: About Me

ఇప్పుడు కళ్ళు మూసుకుని దీని గురించి ఆలోచించండి

Close your eyes and picture this:

"...Dusty dry roads, the pounding heat, wandering cows and broken-down structures of an empire long past. Now imagine a place to rest your feet and escape the daily grind but still be amongst the hustle and bustle.

The broken down back of a trailer-wagon parked up on bricks comes to mind, wooden seating and a highly functional kitchen out back, using hot coals.  On the tables are traditional big round Thali holding small mounds of food of varying flavours, textures and aromas to capture and delight the senses.  Chicken cooked in Bamboo and sticky rice. A spicy hot Picante de la casa cocktail mixed with red jalapenos to ease in the evening.  The thrill of consuming cool Mango Lassi in clay pots during the heat of the day before smashing them against the corner, making a wish.

What is your wish?

Mine is to carry on with my passion for food, continually blending new ideas with lessons passed on from others to recreate my story and my love of cooking.

I love food.

Manci Amma uses fresh produce from Worcestershire. Our spices are freshly sourced at local markets and also from Smethwick, West Midlands. We create a uniquely fresh experience.

We want to give you some new ideas and some new experiences "Zang, Tang coupled with Soft and Floaty Crunches accompanied by Smooth Silky Yoghurt, most of all we want to expand your palates.

Travel broadens the mind. Our expectations and search for new experiences has expanded over the last 30 years.   By showing and cooking for you, you will grow to understand that food does not have to be something you recognise or ask for but something you are surprised and transformed by.
